The Cyprus Fashion Film Festival Youth is the leading platform for young fashion filmmakers and enthusiasts in Cyprus, dedicated to showcasing the creativity of filmmakers under the age of 24.

Our mission is to celebrate the exciting intersection of fashion and film, giving a voice to the next generation of fashion visionaries. We bring the vibrant world of youth-created fashion films to the big screen, offering a unique opportunity to experience fashion through the lens of young filmmakers.

The festival is part of Youth Tech Fest and Cult Experiences Festival, which empowers young creators across multiple art forms, encouraging collaboration and innovation in the world of fashion and film.

What we consider a Fashion Film:

A fashion film, also known as a style-based film, highlights fashion as its core theme. These films showcase curated visual sequences, emphasizing clothing and design as a primary form of artistic expression.

The narratives can revolve around specific styles, designers, or the exploration of fashion as a means of personal or cultural expression.

Fashion films integrate elements of fashion, music, and visual storytelling to create a unique cinematic experience, serving as a captivating medium to celebrate and explore the visual and cultural dimensions of the fashion world.

What We Consider a Fashion Photograph:

A fashion photograph, often regarded as a visual ode to style, places fashion at the forefront of its artistic composition. These images are carefully crafted visual narratives that center around clothing and design, serving as a powerful means of conveying aesthetic expression.

The narratives within fashion photographs may orbit specific styles, designers, or delve into the profound exploration of fashion as a conduit for individual or cultural identity.

Fashion photographs harmoniously blend elements of fashion, photography, and storytelling to compose a distinct visual experience. They stand as captivating snapshots that both celebrate and delve into the multifaceted dimensions of the fashion realm, capturing fleeting moments that encapsulate the essence of style and culture.

Rules & Terms:​

IMPORTANT: To be eligible for an award, it is crucial to include the names of the crew and cast who will be nominated in the production credits section of the submission form. For example, to be considered for the Best Cinematography award, you must clearly specify the individual or team responsible for the cinematography of the fashion film. Failure to provide this information will make the submission ineligible for an award or nomination in the respective category. Make sure to include thorough and accurate credits to maximize your chances for recognition in the Cyprus Fashion Film Festival Youth.

Fashion films or photographs submitted must be original work by the entrant and should not infringe on any copyrights or other rights of third parties. Contestants agree that they have obtained all necessary permissions regarding the use of music, sound, and images presented in their work.

  1. No premiere restriction for fashion films at the Cyprus Fashion Film Festival Youth.

  2. If the fashion film includes dialogue, English subtitles are required.

  3. Multiple entries from the same submitter are accepted.

  4. Fashion films of any length and any year are eligible.

  5. The festival is open to submissions from youth under 24, from anywhere in the world.

  6. The decision of the festival selection committee will be final.

  7. No fee waiver. All entry fees are non-refundable.

  8. Excerpts from fashion films and photographs submitted to the Cyprus Fashion Film Festival Youth may be shown on TV, local networks, radio, internet, etc., for promotional purposes.

  9. Selection does not guarantee the fashion film’s screening at the evening event in Limassol.

  10. All fashion films submitted will be reviewed, nominated, and scored by the jury. Winners will be selected based on these scores.

  11. The final selection will be announced on the notification date.

  12. Fashion films must be the entrant’s original work and should not infringe on copyrights or other rights of third parties. Contestants agree that they have obtained all required permissions for music, sound, images, etc., used in their work.

  13. All participants warrant that their fashion films do not violate applicable laws.

  14. Cyprus Fashion Film Festival Youth organizers reserve the right to change, cancel, or reschedule the dates, venue, awards, categories, rules, and terms, without prior notice to contestants.

  15. The organizers reserve the right to not award any or all of the prizes.

  16. Each official selection comes with two free tickets to the festival.

  17. The Cyprus Fashion Film Festival Youth is open to amateur or professional photographers and filmmakers under 24 or minors with parental consent.

  18. Submissions are collected exclusively via FilmFreeway.

  19. Digital images must be in JPG format, recommended at least 3600 pixels on the long side and saved at 300 dpi.

  20. Photographs may be in color or black and white.

  21. The person submitting the entry must be the creator or part of the team who holds the rights to the work and must not infringe any third-party copyrights. Entrants must have obtained all required permissions regarding images used.

  22. You may enter any number of submissions.

  23. By entering the CFFF Youth, the entrant confirms they have full power and authority to submit the photograph or film and that the work does not violate any copyrights or intellectual property rights.

  24. The entrant agrees to indemnify the CFFF Youth from any third-party claims arising from the use of the photograph or film. It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that they have obtained all permissions for elements in their submissions, such as branding, styling, art direction, or any material that would require a license or third-party consent.

  25. Photographs and fashion films featuring sculptures, statues, paintings, or other works of art will be accepted, provided they do not infringe copyrights. Entrants must be prepared to provide a release form if requested by CFFF Youth.

  26. Submissions must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred, or harm against any group or individual, nor promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age.

  27. By submitting an entry, you understand that if your entry is deemed a winner, it may be posted and distributed through various public media for CFFF Youth’s publications and events.

  28. The CFFF Youth will cover the costs of exhibiting the work. If sales opportunities arise, a 50% commission on all sales will go to the CFFF Youth, after exhibition expenses.

Failure to adhere to these rules will result in disqualification and forfeiture of the entry fee.
