The Cyprus Music Video Festival is the most important film festival for music video creators and enthusiasts in Cyprus.
Our purpose is to celebrate the art of music video making. We bring the best music videos to the big screen and top that with a music jamming after-event and live performances.
Our festival is under “Cult Experiences”, which helps musicians, filmmakers, dancers, actors and many other artists showcasing their voice.

The 2023 CMVF trophies are exquisitely crafted by the talented hands of Evdokia Georgiou, adding an extra touch of artistry to each coveted award.

This specialized field involves capturing musicians and dancers during live shows, behind-the-scenes moments, or in carefully curated photoshoots, aiming to freeze key moments that convey the emotion, style, and artistic vision embedded in both music and music videos.
Photographers in this genre must possess a comprehensive understanding of both photography techniques and the intricacies of live performances and video production. This includes capturing the energy of live shows, dynamic dance movements, and the unique atmosphere of various musical genres. Rules & Terms:
IMPORTANT: To be eligible for an award, it is imperative to include the names of the crew and cast who will be nominated in the production credits section of the submission form. For instance, to be considered for the Best Cinematography award, you must clearly specify the individual or team responsible for the cinematography of the music video. Failure to provide this information will render the submission ineligible for an award or nomination in the respective category. Ensure thorough and accurate credits to maximize your eligibility for recognition in the Cyprus Music Video Festival.
MUSIC VIDEOS OR PHOTOGRAPHS THAT ARE SUBMITTED MUST BE THE ENTRANT’S ORIGINAL WORK AND SHALL NOT INFRINGE ON ANY COPYRIGHTS OR ANY OTHER RIGHTS OF ANY THIRD PARTIES. CONTESTANTS AGREE THAT THEY HAVE OBTAINED ALL REQUIRED COPYRIGHT PERMISSIONS REGARDING MUSIC, SOUND & IMAGES. ETC PRESENTED IN THEIR WORK.
1) No premiere restriction of a music video at the Cyprus Music Video Festival.
2) Music videos without English subtitles are still accepted and appreciated; however, if not in English or Greek and lacking subtitles, they are not eligible for the ‘Best Lyrics’ award.
3) Multiple entries from the same submitter are accepted.
4) Music videos can be of any length but must be completed or released after the 22nd of April 2023 (CMVF23 event date). Exceptions will be made if the festival organizers approve it. Additionally, you cannot submit a music video again if it was screened in any other year at our festival.
5) The festival is open to submissions for people from anywhere in the world.
6) The decision of the festival selection committee will be final.
7) No fee waiver. All entry fees are non-refundable.
8) The excerpts from music videos sent for Cyprus Music Video Festival can be shown on the TV / Local Network / Radio / Internet etc. for Promotional / Publicity.
9) Selection does not guarantee the music video’s screening at the evening event in Limassol.
10) All music videos submitted will be reviewed, nominated and scored by the jury. Based on these scores the winners will be selected.
11) The final selection will be announced on the notification date.
12) Music Videos that are submitted must be the entrant’s original work and shall not infringe on any copyrights or any other rights of any third Parties. Contestants agree that they have obtained all required copyright permissions regarding music, sound & images. etc presented in their music video.
13) All participants warrant that their music videos do not violate applicable laws.
14) Cyprus Music Video Festival organizers reserve rights to change, cancel or re-schedule the dates, venue, awards & categories, rules & terms, without consent or information to contestants.
15) The organizers reserve the right not to award any or all of the prizes.
16) Each official selection comes with two free tickets to the festival.
17) Cyprus Music Video Festival is open to amateur or professional photographers (Entrant) who are 18 years of age or older, or minors who have parental consent to enter.
18) Submissions are collected on FilmFreeway exclusively.
19) Digital images must be in JPG format and are recommended to be at least 3600 pixels on the long side and be saved at 300 dpi.
20) Photographs may be in color or black and white.
21) The person submitting the Entry must be the creator or part of the team who has the rights of the Entry and shall not infringe on any copyrights or any other rights of any third Parties. Contestants agree that they have obtained all required copyright permissions regarding the images.
22) You may enter any number of entries.
23) By entering the CMVF, the Entrant represents, acknowledges and warrants that they have full power and authority to enter the photograph and that the photograph does not infringe any copyright or violate any other intellectual property rights.
24) The Entrant agrees to indemnify the CMVF from any and all third-party claims arising from the use of the photograph. It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that they have permission to submit images inclusive of all elements and persons in the image. Eg. Branding, Choreography, Art direction, artists’ permission, or any other material that would require a license or connection to a third party.
25) Photographs that include sculptures, statues, paintings, and other works of art will be accepted as long as they do not constitute copyright infringement or fraud, provided that Entrants must be prepared to provide a release form at CMVF’s sole discretion.
26) Entries must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age.
27) By submitting an Entry, you understand that if your Entry/’s is deemed to be a winner, it will be posted and distributed in various public media for CMVF’s publications and events.
28) CMVF will be responsible for exhibition display costs. If sales opportunities are available at the festival, a 50% commission on all sales will go to CMVF
Failure to adhere to these rules and terms will result in disqualification and forfeiture of entry fee.
